When I started this website in March 2023 I created a logo design. I did like it, but I wasn’t 100% sure it was right for me. And it always seemed to play on my mind whenever adding a post and I would see the logo.
I just couldn’t quite put my finger on what the actual problem was with it. But I’ve wondered whether it was just a bit “meh” and too literal as in a design of a bit of paper creased a couple of times.
Designing a new logo
I spent a good amount of time thinking of something to replace the current logo with. I was trying this, and trying that with the piece of folded paper but it just wasn’t right.
Then, I had this light bulb go off above my head and thought what is the one tool I use to crease paper with? …The bone folder!
I created the bone folder in Affinity Designer and put the rest of the design together. I wanted something simple, I didn’t want anything overly complicated…simple is sometimes the best!
The final design
I’m very pleased with my final design and how it looks. As I’d said earlier, I wanted something simple and not make it over the top and too complicated.
The bone folder design works well, it’s the tool for the job and suggests what the site is about.
